MID MARCH LOVES

Today I'm sharing with you a few products which I've gravitated too this month so far. If you've read my last post, you'll know I'm a fake tan tanorexic and in order for a tan to last, you need to moisturise. I'm loving the Dove Summer Glow + soft shimmer nourishing lotion. It's super moisturising, has a pleasant smell, soaks into the skin quickly and leaves a slight bronze tan which gradually darken the more often you use it. Tresemmé 24 Hour Body Sky High Plumping Powder has been my life saver recently. It gives my limp hair a voluminous life in seconds which really holds all day. Holy grail product right there, trust me. is just what I need as the weather is warming up. I always go for a matte finish but I'm really loving this lately. It keeps my makeup on all day without making me look greasy, instead it leaves my skins looking healthy.
Along Came Betty Pure Pores 15 Minute Detox Mask is such a fab face mask. My sister actually picked this up in tesco and I really cannot fault it. It has a nice fresh scent, softens the skin, cleans out my pores and washes off easily - what more can you ask for? The No7 Shine and Tint balm in Posy is the only shade I've really been wearing on my lips for the last few weeks. It doesn't dry out the lips and is a beautiful shade which leaves a nice faint tint. Finally is the Soigné Nail Polish in the shade Persimmon. A beautiful bright orange colour which is truly complimenting my tanned since at the moment! It dries quick, looks best with two coats, and I would say it lasts about three to four days without chipping. I love it!

FAKE TAN FAVES

Yes, you read that right, Pale Paigey has converted to fake tan and she even has a few favourites! Never thought I'd see the day where I'd using tan but after seeing a photo of me on a night out a few weeks back and how I ever so nicely blended into my boyfriends WHITE top - it was time to tan. My younger sister is a pro and she's been using the St. Moriz Instant Self Tanning Lotion in Medium for as long as I can remember. I really like it, its easy to apply because it leaves behind a stain so you can see if you've missed any parts. It blends easily, drys instantly and the colour once it's washed off is stunning but the tan doesn't last that long for me. Within two days or so its started to fade big time. Good for a quick fix though. Next onto the L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Express Pro Self-Tanning Dry Mist in Medium. I adore the colour of this tan so much, it's a lovely brown colour without looking orange. My only criticism of this tan is the mist isn't tinted which after spraying yourself, allowing the tan to develop and then four hours later realising you've missed a huge patch on your arm isn't the greatest feeling. Pretty please L'Oreal can you bring out a tinted spray please?
The St. Tropez Gradual Tan Everyday Spray is lovely for a natural looking tan. Like the Sublime Bronze tanner, this tan doesn't have a guide colour but regardless of that, I haven't come out patchy. It gives a tiny amount of colour but this does slowly intensify if you use the spray everyday for a little while. Perfect when I'm being too lazy to tan properly. One tan that trumps everything for me is the St Moriz Instant Self Tanning Mousse in Dark. Unlike the St. Moriz lotion, this colour seems to last up to a week on skin without looking patchy or streaky. It is a tinted mousse so you get a guide colour which is super easy to blend and dries quick. I love the colour of this so much as it's dark but still doesn't look fake.

MY FEBRUARY GO TO LIPS

With the weather somewhat warming up, it's time to ditch the dark lipsticks. I'm not quite ready to start bringing out the bright coral colours, so here's what I typically wear in spring. I always wear some sort of lip product be it lipstick, tints, gloss or even tinted balm; so I'm always mixing it up to match the seasons.
When it comes to this time of the year I usually stick to subtle toned pinks and nudes but I can't resist a red lip. My go to nude lipstick is MUA Bare. Somehow I've managed to get through five of these and if that doesn't show I much I love them, I don't know what will. It's the perfect nude for my skin tone as it has a slight peachy tone to it, not too pale but not too many brown (a usual problem for me.) They last all day without drying out the lips too.
MAC's Pink Plaid is probably my most favourite lipstick of all time. You can't beat their lipsticks, especially not their matte finishes. This shade is a subtle pink with slight mauve undertones which compliments my skin nicely. I love No7 Shine & Tint in Posy. A pinky brown shade which is perfect on its own but also looks stunning upon other products. I love layering this upon No7 Precision Pencil in Soft Blush.
If I'm looking for a bold red lip, I'll switch between Inglot Lipstick in the shade 230 and the ELF Matte Lip Colour in Rich Red. The Inglot lipstick is more of a 'perfect' red. A vibrant red with blue undertones and I just the formula of these lipsticks, super creamy with good lasting power. ELF Matte Lip Colour has more of a pink undertone. I really like the colour against my skin when I've got some fake tan on but as for it being matte? Nope! This definitely has more of a satin finish.

What are your lipstick shades for spring?

SOAP & GLORY - PRODUCT REVIEW

After what seems like forever, I've finally got my life under control and back in order so back to doing what I love the most. I thought I'd kick it off with a couple of products I've been trialling out lately.
As I'm sure you're all very aware, Soap & Glory and I are besties, everything I've tried I've loved (apart from the scent of Hand Food but I'm willing to forget about that if you do). From makeup to body scrubs to skincare they never fail to impress me so naturally I thought I needed to try a few more bits. I picked up the Thick & Fast HD Mascara and the Archery Brow Tint & Precision Shaping Pencil - two products which I have seen so many bloggers rave about. I have a love hate relationship with these if I'm going to be honest. The Thick & Fast Mascara wasn't my cup of tea when I first tried it. I found the formula really wet and the brush hard to use so back into my stash it went. After a few weeks I rediscovered it and gave it a second chance. The brush? Still struggling to understand that but as for the formula having dried out a little bit, oh yes we're onto a winner. It creates thicker fuller lashes in seconds but effort is require otherwise you'll resemble a spider.
As for the Archery Brow pencil, I love it. It's double ended pencil, a waxy side and a felt tip end. Oh and yes, my descriptions are just perfect I know. I personally love the waxy end more because it's easy and quick to apply on those days when I really cannot be bother. The felt tip side is good but it is a really faint shade. It's a shame it only comes in two colours because I've recently changed my hair colour so unfortunately it too light. Besides that, here are two products which I've fallen in love with and I would definitely recommend.

BELLA & BEAR - 'THE PLUCKERS' TWEEZER SET REVIEW

After trying a few products from Bella & Bear in the past, I leapt at the chance of trying out their new 'The Pluckers' Tweezer Set*. As I'm sure you're all aware, I adore this brand. Its cute and quirky packaging, unbelievable value for money and the nicest customer service team I have ever countered make this brand a win for me. And yet again, they haven't disappointed me.
After trying the Hair She Goes Set* a few months back, I deemed their tweezers to be the god send of all tweezers, but move side, there's something better in town. Ladies (and gents) I present to you 'The Pluckers' tweezer set. It comes with three types tweezers, each one being designed to help remove every annoying little hair, and the result? Beautiful brows! They are so precise and manage to grab hold of every hair, which is unlike most tweezers Ive used before, and the pointed one is ideal for removing ingrown hairs as well.
The standard straight tweezers are good for removing hair from around the face, especially the chin or bikini line and the slanted tweezers work wonders for precise work around the brows.
I love the little travel case you get with them too. Like always, it has the gorgeous floral print and it proved to be ever so handy. I always carry a pair of tweezers with me because you'll never know when you need them; so this case is perfect, compact and pretty.
I don't know what else I can says apart from how much I'm amazed by then and I really cannot recommend these tweezers enough!

WHY I'VE BEEN SLACKING ON THE BLOGGING FRONT LATELY

I've been gone a while, and with good reason too, ladies and gentleman of the blogging world I introduce to you my new puppy Berts! Firsts things first let me just express how exhausting but rewarding having a puppy is. Without a doubt any spare time I previously had is now consumed by toilet training, walkies and play time; but I wouldn't change it for the world. Hopefully once he's trained properly I can get back into the swing of blogging properly but until then, I have plenty of photos for you and I hope you adore him as much as I do!
I got my Berts at just five and half weeks, which unbelievably young I know, but he's truly come on leaps and bounds and I just can't accept how big he's got, especially because he's only eleven weeks. He a mixture of a Springer Spaniel with a Cocker Spaniel, known as a Sprocker Spaniel so the vet reckons he's going to be a large dog! He has such a cheeky personality, always wanting to play and even posing for the camera if you say 'Bertie cheeeeeese'! I really can't imagine my life without him.
So I'm sorry for my absence but I've got plenty of posts planned so stay tuned!

MY HAIRCARE ESSENTIALS

When it comes to my hair, the word nightmare springs to mind! I've dyed, bleached, straightened and stripped my hair for years and nowadays it's paying the price. But after a little TLC, the help of my sister who is a hairdresser and constant use of these products, it's in better shape. And I feel I desperately need to share my haircare essentials with you.

My favourite shampoo has to be the TwisedSista Hair + Scalp FiX Super Strengthen Shampoo. Because it's formulated with Keratin, it promises to give even the most distressed hair a new life and I really can't disagree. My hair feels stronger and glossier wash after wash. I'm not a huge lover of conditioner, I find it leaves my hair feeling heavy and greasy so I usually just apply a treatment two-three times a week. If you're a regular reader, you'll know how much I adore the Umberto Giannini Frizzi When Nothing Else Will Do Intense Recovery Mask with argan oil. If the heavens were to be combined into a pot of hair mask, I'm pretty sure this would be it. It tames my frizz, strengthens my hair whilst leaving it super soft.
Before I blow-dry or style my hair, I always squirt a few pumps of the Amara Volume Boost into my locks. Because I have limp hair, this brings it back to life. Hello bouncy locks, goodbye lank hair! I regularly style my hair with heating tools and therefore a heat spray is a definite for me. I like to use the Vo5 Heat Protect Styling Spray. It protects the hair to up to heats of 280°C whilst taming frizz and leaving the hair shiny without weighing it down. Oh and it's super cheap too!
Last but by no means least, I like a little bit of shine spray. My current favourite, and something I've been loving for a while, is the Awapuhi Wild Ginger Shine Spray. The light mist creates a very natural looking shine to make my hair look a little bit on the wake side. I adore it and I really don't think I could live without it!
A little trim here and there also helps to improve the condition of my hair and helps it to grow!

REVIEW - No7 STAY PERFECT EYE PENCILS

Now that it's coming into autumn and bright lipsticks aren't really suitable, I like to add a little colour to my eyes instead. Eyeshadow can be time consuming so eye pencils come in handy and whilst I was having a little mooch around my local Boots I decided to try some of the No7 Stay Perfect Eye Pencils. I picked up two shades which are also two different types within the Stay Perfect family.
Firstly I picked up 'Purple' which is a metallic eye pencil. Unlike the name suggests, its not overly metallic but is more of a brown based shade with a nice amount of purple shimmer running throughout. I personally love this shade and it has such a lovely formula. Super creamy and highly pigmented, this pencil can be blended seamlessly and lasts all day.
I also picked up 'Deepest Blue' which is an 'amazing eye pencil'. Because I stupidly thought this was also a metallic pencil so I didn't bother swatting it. I really wish I had now. Don't get me wrong, the formula is pretty much the same, creamy and long-lasting, so I can't fault it for that. Unlike the metallic eye pencils, these require some build up to have a noticeable amount of colour but nonetheless, the shade is divine. It lasts all day once it has set and is such a wearable shade.

PICSTICK PHOTO MAGNET REVIEW

I normally don't stray away from the beauty related posts but after having the opportunity to review the PicStick Photo Magnets*, I couldn't not share them with everyone!
PicStick can turn any photo you want into a magnet at an unbelievably cheap price. For £9.50 you receive nine high quality photos that will stick to any metal surface. They also offer free delivery to ANYWHERE in the world! All you have to do is make an account, upload the photos you want and they're with you in just a few days.
I personally think magnetic photos are a genius idea. I love photos and I have them displayed everywhere but when it comes to somewhere like the kitchen or the workplace, photo frames just aren't practical and that's why PicStick photo magnets take pride of place upon the fridge. The images are super glossy and of a really good quality. I think they're ideal for everyone as they're so versatile, they'd be brilliant for a moving away gift or even as a revision tool. I really can't fault PicStick in the slightest. The magnets are a bargain, arrived so quickly and are of a really good quality, I highly recommend them.

THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE BEST --- EYELINER

Eyeliner is something I cannot go a day without, and if I do, I feel like an alien. So trust me when I tell you that I've tried and tested my fair share and after a rummage through my stash, here are the ones that I love, like and dislike and surprising they're all drugstore!
QUICK DISCLAIMER - just because I may love/dislike a product doesn't mean you'll feel the same way so if you want to give them a try, don't let my opinion put you off!

THE GOOD
ELF Liquid Eyeliner
I own this liner in three shades; Coffee, Black and Midnight but Coffee (which is pictured) is by far my favourite shade. Sometimes I want more of a subtle look and this is the perfect liner. I really love the formula too. It glides on easily, has amazing pigmentation and the colours are just divine. Oh and they last all day! They've got quite a few shades to choose from too and they only cost £1.95 each. Wow!

THE BAD
Rimmel ScandalEyes Precision Micro Liner
I'm not really a fan of felt tip liners and I'm certainly not a fan of this one! It claims to be for precision lining but I found the tip to be really wobbly and if that wasn't bad enough, the pigmentation is crap in my opinion. I had to swatch it twice just to get it to look black and there's no way it's dried out because I've only owned it a week. I really feel like it drags my eyelids too. Just a no go for me!

THE BEST
Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Eye Liner
Praise the lord for gel eyeliner! There is something about this one that is so perfect. I've tried a few gel liners but I just prefer this one somewhat more. I've tried the 'pen' versions before too but they have nothing on this. This glides on like a dream, no dragging in sight, it's highly pigmented and lasts all day. It's really easy to remove as well. If you're wanting to try a gel liner, I really recommend trying this one.

THE FULL COVERAGE FACE BASE

With the weather slowly coming into autumn, my very sheer base is no longer doing the trick. I haven't got partially bad skin although on some days I want something that will give me a lot more coverage and whilst I was throwing out questions on twitter and searching high and low on the internet, I bumped into NYX. Having tried a few NYX products before, of which I totally loved, so I thought I'd give a few more products to try. There is so much positive feedback bouncing about the internet for these products so I had serious high hopes.
Yet again, I was impressed. Like seriously impressed and I've tried many a foundation. The NYX Stay Matte But Not Flat is fast becoming my new favourite foundation. Lightweight, easily blend-able with a lovely full coverage matte finish, there's nothing I don't love. I use the shade 01 Ivory and it is ideal for my pasty pale skin. It lasts all day whilst controlling my oily t-zone and doesn't cling to my dry patches, heaven in a tube!
I also popped into my basket the HD Photogenic Concealer and the Above and Beyond Full Coverage Concealer both in the shade 02 Fair and these have really helped to give me the full coverage flawless base I've been lusting after. Like the foundation, both are really blend-able, lightweight and provide a great amount of coverage. The formulas are faultless! The only complaint I have is that the HD Photogenic Concealer did crease under my eyes, but to be honest, most concealers do.
If you're looking for a foundation/concealer that's full coverage and won't break the bank - I'm sure you'll love these!

AUGUST FAVOURITES

Is it just me or is this year flying by? I don't remember last year going this quick!? But here we are again, another month and another set of monthly favourites so let's crack on!

If you've read my most recent review, you'll know I'm a fan of the Rimmel Wonder'Full mascara. It gives good volume with lots of definition whilst still leaving my lashes feeling like they've had some much needed love. On the topic of TLC, in comes Sally Hansen's Maximum Growth Nail Polish. I won't say too much because I'm planning on giving it a full review soon but it's really improved the condition of my nails recently and I love it so much. Another polish that's had a lot of loving lately is Topshop Nails in Wide Awake. I completely forgot I had this shade but I've fallen back in love and it's been my mani all month! The formula of Topshop nail polishes are fab and the colour range is amazing.
Peach is one of my favourites colours so there's no surprise that the Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Blusher in Onamatopeacha has been my blush of choice this month. If you want to know more, you can read the full review here.
When it comes to skincare, I'm constantly trying out new products - mainly miniatures I receive in beauty boxes - in order to create my perfect skincare routine. I seriously cannot get enough of the Urban Veda Purifying Exfoliating Facial Polish. I've just purchased a full sized tube because I absolutely adore it. Nothing leaves my face feeling so fresh and clean like this does and it's so gentle on my skin, which is ideal for the forever changing weather we're experiencing in London! Maybe this 'one minute it's sunny, one minute it's pouring down' is to blame for my extremely dry hands. I've mentioned my love for this before in my The Good, The Bad and The Best series and honestly, it's amazing stuff. It always leaves my hands feeling soft and nourished with the most sweet and delightful scent.

REVIEW - RIMMEL WONDER'FULL MASCARA

I am forever on the hunt for a new mascara that I'll love more than the last because I quite clearly have commitment issues when it comes to mascaras. I'm on a journey to find the holy grail of mascaras, and I've come close before, so I'm determined I will find it! But in the meantime I'm trying out a few new ones that I really enjoy using. One that I haven't put down lately is the Rimmel Wonder'Full mascara*. When it comes to everyday mascara, I'm looking for something that gives me definition but can still look a little natural but also something that I can build, and I've found the Wonder'Full mascara does exactly that. The formula is very wet and lightweight, which is something I normally don't like, but it works really well to give a much more natural looking lash. It claims to give "zero clumps and feather-light volume" and I really can't disagree. The mascara adds a little amount of volume at the root of the lash and there isn't a single clump in sight, yay! If you want a more noticeably defined lash, a few more coats can be applied whilst it's still wet, and that is what I tend to do.
For me, drugstore mascara will alway triumph, and this one is just another that proves my point. If you want a lightweight mascara that leaves your lashes looking more defined and feeling conditioned, this is the one for you.

ALMOST GONE #1

Today I'm talking about some products that have had some serious loving lately, resulting in them being almost gone, so it's time they had a mini review.
I've been on a bit of a spending spree lately, buying loads of new products to try so it's taken me some time to almost used them up, but nevertheless, here they are!

I've loved the No7 Lash Impact mascara since it was first realised. It grabs every lash, lengthens and volumes and doesn't smudge all over my face. When I first started using it, I claimed it was my 'holy grail' mascara but I'm starting to eat my words. Don't get me wrong, it's a fab mascara but I've found ones that I love just as much.
I really like the Nivea Daily Essentials Double Effect Eye Make-up remover and I know it's just an eye makeup remover, but it manages to get every piece of mascara off with ease - even waterproof mascara. I never feel like I have to scrub my eyes to get it off, but I would suggest you give it a good shake first!
I'm a lazy person when it comes to moisturising my body so I normally stick with Vaseline Spray & Go but I've really been enjoying using the Superdrug Vitamin E All Over Body cream lately. It smells fab, sinks in quick and leaves my skin feeling so soft. I cannot tell you how much I love the La Roche-Posay Effaclar A.I, it's seriously heaven in a bottle! If you've read my full review (available here) you'll know how much I rave about this product. It clears my skin up instantly without being harsh on my skin. If you haven't tried it, you need to!
My hair has been so limp and lifeless lately, it is like all the volume has disappeared. For a month I've been trying out the Amara Volume Boost Spray and I've really noticed a difference. It just gives a natural looking boost without it being obvious and leaves no residue.

The Nivea Daily Essentials Light Moisutrising Day Cream for normal/combination skin is nothing fancy but it sure is effective. This moisturiser is refreshing, leaves my skin feeling soft and ready for makeup. It sinks into the skin quickly and never clogs my pores.
I'm pretty sure I've told you about the Umberto Giannini Frizzi Hair Mask before but it honestly is my favourite hair mask by a mile and you can read the full review here. My hair is really dry and the only thing that helps is this. It nourishes in seconds without leaving my hair heavy and banishes frizz away! One mascara that has had my attention lately is the Maxfactor 2000 Calorie Mascara. It can really hold a curl and adds so much volume and definition. It doesn't smudge or flake and if I want a fuller look, I can easily add more layers without it clumping.
I can't believe I've almost run out of this polish, I hardly ever use up nail polishes! I love the effect of the Barry M Aquarium Nail Paints and Treasure Chest it my favourite shade by far. It looks gorgeous by itself and over other polishes as it has different size flecks of gold and rose gold pink sequins running throughout. Oh but p.s. it's a pain in the backside to remove! Other than that, it lasts ages and looks so nice.

THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE BEST --- NAIL POLISH

Back to another The Good, The Bad and The Best post; and this time its nail polishes. I don't know about you, but I'm fanatical about nail polishes, and when I say fanatical about nail polishes I mean absolutely crazy and my collection is beyond a joke. But anyways, I've had a rummage through my stash and have picked out the ones that I think are good, brilliant and meh.
QUICK DISCLAIMER - just because I may love/dislike a product doesn't mean you'll feel the same way so if you want to give them a try, don't let my opinion put you off!

THE GOOD
L.A Colors Color Craze
I've mentioned these before about a year ago, but for those who don't know, LAC make amazing nail polishes which you can pick up for as little as 99p in places such as BeautyBase. I really like these polishes, they're cheap with a good formula and the colour selection is to die for. They do tend to chip after three days but for 99p, there's not much you can ask for. My favourite shades are 'Hottie' and 'Perfect Plum'.
Mavala Mini Colours
I really like these nail polishes, it's like super glue for your nails, no chips in sight! Mavala have such a good colour range with tons of different finishes which I love and adore. The only thing I'm not a massive fan of is how long they take to dry. I always paint my nails before bed so there's nothing more annoying then waking up with a pillow printed nail because it took forever to dry, but it's still an amazing polish!

THE BAD
MaxFactor Glossfinity
With everyone raving about this nail polish, I was so excited and had even convinced myself that I would love it. I was wrong. Despite the stunning colour range and promises of 'glossy nails for up to seven days' my nails were having none of it. Firstly, I found the formula quite gloopy and thick and then there was the issue of it chipping within an hour of me painting my nails. It was all going okay until I put my hair up and bam it was all chipped, so no thanks MaxFactor, I'll have to give this one a miss.

THE BEST
Essie
For me, Essie just blows any other polish out of the park. They make such lovely shades with clever names that really do last. On me, I can get a good five to seven days wear out of this polish before it starts to chip! The formula is like no other, quick drying, chip resistant (for a few days) and they're so highly pigmented. Essie offer a bunch of colours in all types of finishes for under £8 a pop! I love them all!
Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint by Barry M
Barry M polishes are fab, especially the Gelly Hi-Shine. I adore the formula of this product so much and it leaves my nails looking perfect and professional. With every shade known to beauty blogger, there's not much you can criticise these polishes for. They do take a while to dry on me, although it is still quicker than others, but the wait if definitely worth the wait because they're so glossy and opaque, This is a must have nail polish for sure, and if I was you I would definitely get the shade 'Sugar Apple'; it's the perfect mint green!

ARE THE REVLON COLORSTAY MOISTURE STAINS WORTH THE HYPE?

As soon as I spotted the Revlon Moisture Stains in my local Superdrug, I had to pick one up. My local store is really rather small and only stocked three shades so I picked up 'Shanghai Sizzle', a very vibrant red shade. It was love at first swatch, or at least I thought it was.
The Moisture Stains are extremely glossy with an amazing amount of pigment and they're so opaque in just one swipe.
But hold your horses, I've found some faults. Firstly, I've found it can go quite gloopy. Now don't get me wrong, the formula is great but it becomes sticky if you add more than one coat. Then there's the problem of the colour 'bleeding'. The thing with me is I like to wear these kind of lip products when I want a bold lip but I'm in a rush, aka I don't have time for a lip liner and all that jazz. Although with a liner, something like MAC Cherry lip liner underneath, it's gorgeous and lasts so much longer without any bleeding.
They are super comfortable to wear though, last at least six hours and once the gloss has worn off it leaves a nice subtle stain upon the lip.
Despite the problems I've had, I do really like the ColorStay Moisture Stains and I may even have to pick up a few more colours (and a few matching lip liners too)!

What do you think of the ColorStay Moisture Stains?
